Paul Laskow

Paul Laskow is the founder and President of Save Energy Systems.  He is the chief architect of the Demand Limiting Controller (DLC) system, the company’s patented energy-saving controller for commercial facilities.

Paul received his BSEE from Northeastern University and an MBA from Clark University.  He started work at Digital Equipment Corporation and from there, at age 27, started Electronic Designs Inc. (EDI) with a partner.  At EDI, Paul and his partner designed the first Single In-Line Memory Module (SIMM) which has evolved into the memory modules used today for most personal computers.  Paul sold his interest in the company and started working at Raytheon.

Paul worked at Raytheon in microelectronics.  From Raytheon, he left and started Micro Electronics Technologies, which is where he became interested in energy conservation.  After looking for a system to help him reduce demand costs for small to medium-sized businesses and not finding one, Paul began to develop the concepts for the DLC.

When Paul sold Micro Electronics Technologies, he became a business consultant, working with companies to install MRP systems and improve manufacturing efficiency.  It was during this time he was able to design and prototype the DLC.

Our Team

Craig Yancich

Director of Sales

Craig started his sales career in telecommunications shortly after the break up of the phone company. He focused on solving business communication and networking challenges at all size companies from small to enterprise organizations.

While working with Paul Laskow in 2012, Paul shared his Save Energy Systems vision with Craig. The Demand Limiting Controller (DLC) had proven successful in dozens of deployments and customers were saving money and reducing their carbon footprint. It was time to grow the business and Craig joined soon after to head up sales.

Now, in 2022, Save Energy Systems has exceeded its 500th installation of the Demand Limiting Controller having saved it’s customers millions of dollars in energy expense and eliminating over 20,000 tons of carbon in our atmosphere.

Kate Carroll

Marketing Manager

As head of SES marketing, Kate works closely with sales and outside partners such as the digital marketing team, industry associations, fulfillment houses and graphic designers. She coordinates and implements the details of the marketing plans she develops and oversees the marketing strategies, programs, budgets, tactics and resources for the portfolio of SES related initiatives. Kate also performs regular tasks such as posting to the company’s social media channels, keeping the website up to date and looking for creative opportunities to bridge the gap into new vertical customer markets for SES.

John Bertone

Installation Supervisor

As head of SES installation, John oversees the installers at SES who go on site to customer locations to install the DLC thermostats, controller and commission the system. Depending on the needs of the installation, they may run cables as well. A typical installation takes one to two days.

Kim Bangma

Managed Services Supervisor

As head of SES Managed Services, Kim oversees the team and works closely with our customers to ensure they are receiving optimal support and functionality with the systems we have installed. They accept calls from authorized employees in customer’s facilities regarding HVAC related issues such as zone temperature, humidity, etc. They monitor for all DLC system alerts and review status updates on the DLC portal dashboard for all customer facilities.

HVAC Managed Services Team

Our HVAC Managed Services provide a simple, cost-effective, solution for commercial facilities to reduce energy expenses and time spent on HVAC maintenance.

Should SES receive a system alert or call from a club, SES will initiate DLC system diagnostics to determine if the issue is DLC based or mechanical, in an effort to eliminate dispatching a technician. If determined to be a mechanical issue, SES dispatches customer’s HVAC contractor (typically by email with copies to customer’s management team). Once repairs are complete, SES confirms the unit is functioning correctly. Particularly challenging issues can be escalated to Save Energy System’s senior engineering resources for resolution.

About SES

Save Energy Systems launched in January 2012 and has grown steadily since over the last decade.

The company was founded by Paul Laskow, president and owner, who sought to remedy an energy consumption issue he was experiencing at his electronics manufacturing facility.  After not being able to find a company that offered the solution he was looking for, he created an innovative - and now patented - approach to commercial HVAC controls that allows for the reduction of a facility's HVAC related energy consumption and demand, reducing a facility's energy bill by an average of 30%.

As an energy efficiency company, Save Energy Systems is focused on providing commercial facilities with a level of HVAC control functionality that is equal to, or better than, what is available in large management systems – all for an affordable price and without reducing comfort.  Our patented Demand Limiting Controller (DLC) is an innovative system that prevents all of the units from coming on at once while maintaining a comfortable temperature.  And our Managed Services team leverages data from the DLC and their expertise to make real-time decisions, reducing the time employees spend managing their HVAC systems. The result:  reduced energy costs for our customers, employee time savings, and less impact on the environment.

Our track record speaks for itself...since 2012, we have installed over 500 systems in over 30 states across the U.S. and in Canada, saving, in aggregate, millions of kilowatts/kilowatt-hours and achieving a combined savings of millions of dollars for our customers. We are not only saving our customers money but we are also doing our collective part in saving the environment!

Founded in 2011, Save Energy Systems provides small to medium-size commercial facilities with automated, intelligent control and optimization of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC). Many of the features found in more expensive building energy management systems (BEMS) are incorporated into our system – at a fraction of the cost.

Today, the DLC has been continually enhanced since its initial release, and has been approved by utilities as a viable energy-efficiency measure that qualifies for energy-efficiency incentive rebates. A rigorous third-party review process modeled the DLC’s performance across several building types before being approved by a utility technology review committee.

A growing list of clients across key vertical categories are benefiting from the impact the DLC is having on their bottom line. The DLC is ideal for a variety of applications: from a single facility to dashboards that incorporate multiple locations nationwide. Nearly any size facility, whether existing or recently built, can take advantage of the Save Energy Systems DLC to improve its HVAC control and reduce energy costs. By reducing energy consumption and greenhouse emissions, Save Energy Systems helps businesses reduce their impact on the environment.
