A State of Innovation in the Cleantech Sector

Mass Technology Leadership

Yesterday we were informed that we’d been nominated as a “Start-Up to Watch” by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council. That’s a nice distinction for a company that formally launched just two months ago. It’s also a proud achievement in a State known for technology innovation, particularly in the growing cleantech sector.

A viable cleantech ecosystem must have 1) innovative research institutions necessary to produce clean technology products and 2) the financial resources necessary to convert those products into commercially viable businesses. Massachusetts has an abundance of both. It typically ranks second (to California) in venture capital investment in this sector.  It also has some of the top academic institutions in the U.S. dedicated to cleantech innovation, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

It’s possible we won’t win MassTLC’s final award. But with the pace of innovation in this State, we are encouraged by the high-level recognition that our solution is receiving. We know we’re worth watching.  It’s just nice to hear that others agree.
